Thing #12

I loved using the Google Calendar. I try to always be organized and on top of everything. Sometimes, especially in college, that is not always that simple. Using this application allows me to keep up with all of my different due dates I have. I can keep up with birthdays, appointments, and even my work schedule. Being able to look at your calender online where you check everything else makes it so much easier than writing it all down and having to keep up with it. In this day and age, who writes anything down? Exactly, nobody does. This application is very helpful if you tend to forget things, or over-book yourself. Check it out, I am sure you will find it very helpful, as did I.

Thing #11

I used the Google Blog Search because Google has always been very helpful to me. When searching for all of the different feeds, narrowing down a topic was simple. All you have to do is enter a couple of keywords in the search box, and you are going to find exactly what you are looking for. All this information about RSS readers and different feeds, blogs, etc. is enough info for anyone to write a 20 page paper! Not that anyone would want to put their selves through that headache. This tool gives you a variety of different sources to help you out with whatever you may need to know.

Thing #10

I really enjoyed learning about RSS readers. I already have a gmail account, so my reader was ready to add feeds to. When I first starting searching for different feeds, the lists were so long. There were so many different ones to chose from, it made finding a couple I liked hard. I subscribed to a variety of places, most of them dealing with education. Using the RSS reader makes finding blogs so much easier. I subscribed to a couple of blogs created by teachers and they are filled with helpful thoughts and ideas. If I ever need an idea, I can just hop on this site and search for something in the blogs I have subscribed to. This application is just another helpful tool in the world of preparing for the career of teaching.

Thing #9

I use the site imagechef.com to create both of my pictures. I thought it was cool to see all of the different applications and templates they had available. I used a peace sign in the first image with the words live, love, laugh. With the second picture I used the candy hearts template with the phrase "teachers rule!". I think both are a cute word of adding a touch of character to any project. They are simple to make and uploading them to any site is a breeze as well. I can not wait to tell all my friends about this neat website.

I chose to use the application Spell with flickr. It is a very neat website to use to create cute little words with different letters. I chose the word peace to spell out. I love peace signs and anything to do with peace. I even have the word peace with a peace sign tattoo on my wrist. I could use this site all day to create a variety of cool designs. You can use these images in a project of yours, or even on a web page you have. Overall, it is a great site that I will be using in the future.

Thing #7

I chose the image above from flickr.com for various reasons. I love, love, love zebras is definitely the most important reason to me. I have always wanted to see one in person and even visit Africa someday. I think they are such beautiful animals and they interest me with there coat of black and white stripes. Also, I love the background of the purple and how it contrasts with the zebra making it the center of attention. I think flickr.com is a great site to find a variety of pictures. It is very easy to use, and you do not even have to have an account to use or view the pictures. Thank you flickr.com for this great picture!

Thing #6

I chose YouTube.com as my website to explore. Of course I have heard of it, but I had never really used it before. It is packed with so many different videos to watch and post on different web pages. It has such a variety of topics from humor, to educational, to even popular music videos. If you ever need to know how to do something, just type it in and I am sure there is a video posted on how to do it. The site is so helpful it is almost ridiculous, as bad as that is to say. It just makes life in different aspects that much easier. I will definitely be using YouTube.com in the future for either a good laugh or maybe some educational research.

Thing #5

The term School 2.0 means to me that there is always something out there that is going to affect the world of education. There are different tools and technology advances coming out everyday. The world of education is different from years ago and it will continue to change now and in the future. To be able to keep up with today's society, we have to be able to educate our students on new careers that are just being thought of. This is a continuous cycle of always updating and keeping up with the times. Each of the articles I read relate to this issue just as well. They further explain the new technologies and what they mean for the future students in America today. I found all of them filled with information and very interesting. People in general, and teachers especially, do not need to feel inferior to technology. Instead, embrace it and sit back and enjoy the advantages.

Thing #4

I think that commenting on different things is very important. It helps people relate to one another and even help others with problems they may be faced with. It allows others to know that they are not alone, that there is always someone out there who is going through your same situation or maybe an even worse one. You can meet new people by commeting, and learn new things you probably never knew. I chose to comment on the blogs of Ashley Hernandez, Brittany Menees, Michelle Carpenter, Sarah LaBean, and Lacey Chaney. I found all of their blogs very helpful and interesting. Their blogs definitely matched my feelings about those certain sites as well. I think blogging is a great way of expressing your thoughts and emotions, and when others comment it helps sometimes to know you are not alone. Or even when you think you are completely off track, there is someone there to tell you that you are doing a great job!
